The Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development (DIIRD) is the Victorian Government lead agency responsible for encouraging business growth and securing investment, promoting exports and creating employment. The Office of Manufacturing and Service Industries within DIIRD is charged with growing and developing Victoria’s manufacturing and service industries.
Victorian Government Business Offices are located in key overseas locations, which includes Bangalore and serve as the first point of contact with the Victorian Government. Victoria has a solid manufacturing base and is Australia’s leading location for industry-based research and development. The Victorian aerospace and aviation industry is mature, innovative and very competitive with much to offer the global market place. The aerospace industry accounts for up to 40% of the national aerospace output while the combined aerospace and aviation industry employs more than 17,000 people and plays a significant role in the Australian economy.
The Victorian Government has a policy to assist, support, promote and coordinate activities that assist Victorian manufacturers and service providers to grow, develop, and extend their markets worldwide.
