With a diverse background in both government and the private sector, Robyn Cooney brought a range of skills and experiences to the role of Aviation Cluster Manager.
After completing a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Tasmania, Robyn was trained as a radio and television producer at the ABC before completing certificates in marketing and management. She has since worked for local, state and federal governments, as well as gaining considerable private sector experience ranging from small business to corporate level. She has worked with both national and international industry bodies.
Following her retirement from her position as General Manager Business and External Services at the South Gippsland Shire, Robyn now works for herself as an economic development consultant. She is passionate about traveling and nominates writing, lobbying and networking as her strengths.
Robyn expects working with the aviation cluster to be both challenging and satisfying. She acknowledges the tough times industry face but is optimistic about the aviation cluster’s resilience.
“The next few years are going to test Australian business.” says Robyn “It’s certainly a time when industry sectors need to collaborate and pull together. The aviation cluster’s strength lies in doing just that.” |
